Niki
oh my gosh, I totally forgot I have snaps on my camera to upload to Flickr. Niki's unruly hair reminded me that I took some pix of my own dolly (name not yet determined). I'll have to upload right now so my next post can be a comparison. Mine looks a lot like Niki, but of course mine is cuter cuz I'm her mama. I love Niki's spinner. I took my Natasha Moore out this afternoon to take shots with Abigail's spinner. It was fun. Will post pix sortly...

Shamrock and a Pot of Gold
Going Green! Pistachio Irish Cream cupcakes with a wee bit of green food coloring! I topped it with green and white swirl vanilla buttercream, a fondant shamrock, and a fondant pot filled with coconut cream "gold" and gold sugar.

Rimi y su Koinobori(鯉幟)
Hoy Rimi los vio y quiso que le comprara el suyo aunque aun falta mucho para colocarlo pero ya saben como son los ninos.
el Koinobori (鯉幟), que son una especie de banderas con formas de carpa con la boca abierta (para que al entrar el aire tomen volumen además de agitarse) que se alzan en un pequeño mástil desde mediados de Abril en las casas con niños. El porqué de que sea una carpa es debido a que este pez simboliza el esfuerzo y la perseverancia, ya que es capaz de remontar ríos a contracorriente y pequeñas cascadas. Estas virtudes son muy valoradas por los japoneses y esperan que sus hijos las adquieran en el futuro. Koinobori pequeños representan a los niños de la casa.
El día de los niños tiene lugar el 5 de mayo y todos los edificios son decorados con koinobori desde abril o principios de mayo en honor de los hijos y con la esperanza de que crezcan fuertes y saludables. Los tamaños de estas banderas varían de unas pocas pulgadas a algunos metros de largo
